USN Athletics will face new landscape in 2025-26 school year
USN high school teams will compete in a new district for all TSSAA sports during the 2025-2026 school year.
By Josh Scouten, Athletic Director
The 2025-26 school year will bring a new athletics alignment for our high school sports under TSSAA. The new district structure is due to new schools joining the middle region of Division II Class A — private schools under 450 enrollment for grades 9-12. This will improve the travel that we have experienced in our previous district, reducing the number of early dismissals and/or late evenings of travel with more localized competition.
The new district will include competition against the following schools: Clarksville Academy, Davidson Academy, Donelson Christian, Ezell-Harding, Friendship Christian, Goodpasture, Mt. Juliet Christian, and Nashville Christian.
USN will compete in this district in the following sports: baseball, basketball, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball. This change will not impact some of our TSSAA sports (bowling, lacrosse, track and field), as those sports have separate regional alignment. This change in our athletics alignment will not impact non-TSSAA sports (climbing, mountain biking, swimming, ultimate).
USN previously competed in this district from 2016 to 2020.
