By the Artclectic Team
In its 28-year history, Artclectic has aimed to be not just an event that exhibits award-winning, show-stopping, inventive artwork, it’s been an event that brings the University School of Nashville community together like none other.
Combining creativity with practical experience, USN parents Tara Goldberg (Vivi ’32 and Oliver ’36), Grace Hu (Gryff ’33 and Max ’34), and Felicia Tibbs (Ian, ’22) have teamed up to chair Artclectic 2024.
"We love seeing so many energized people converge on the art-packed, three-day show: parents, students, teachers, alumni, Nashville residents, curious out-of-towners, artists, dozens of crafters," they explained.
Patrons Party chairs Blake Murray (Alby '32 and Rose '36) and Liz Stemmler (Izzy '34 and June '36) have planned an incredible night. Think Parisian Café, French 75 cocktails, charming French music in the background…you get the picture. Patrons tickets can be purchased here. A few years ago, we introduced the hugely successful Innovators Level at $250. It includes a 30 minute reception prior to the beginning of the Patrons Party for Innovator level donors. Special thanks to our Patrons Party Sponsor INSBANK.
Our community party, ARTbash, is chaired by Tara Goldberg (Vivi ’32 and Oliver ’36) and Magda Schleicher (Sofia '32, Luli '34, and Siena '37), is a great opportunity to invite your friends and neighbors and broaden our reach to the general, art-loving community. Bring your kids at 5 p.m. for an alcohol-free hour of all ages fun in the gallery. Or join us for light bites and drinks beginning at 6 p.m. Stroll the gallery before heading off to dinner or stay the whole night and interact with artists and friends. We are grateful for our ARTbash sponsors Dr. Steven Hecklin and Electronic Express.
It’s possible to attend Artclectic every single day and have a different experience. Bring your partner, your mom, your book club, your kids. There’s something for everyone at this celebration of art and community at University School of Nashville.
"Last year was my first time exhibiting at Artclectic, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it," said Wee Ng (Isaiah '30). "I most loved connecting with the audience, hearing what piece they connect with, what emotions arise as they observe the work. I saw that some pieces immediately stood out to some viewers and drew them in right away, which was such an intriguing experience for me to witness."Featured artist Melissa Ellen Hood will be joined by 54 other artists, including 18 new artists, along with 11 more with just their second showing. More than half are practically brand-new participants. Proceeds from Artclectic support innovative teaching by providing funds for our extraordinary teachers to attend workshops, explore new ways of teaching, and bring back innovative and visionary ideas to share with our students and our community. There are so many ways for you to be a part of this fabulous weekend.
