Class of 2024 and families–
Welcome to Spring. And welcome to the final chapters of your time on Edgehill.
Think back to your freshman year. You had the most extraordinary of beginnings. Staring High School, your older classmates decided it best for you to set foot on campus first. Do you remember the day? I do. September 29, 2020. Bravely, and likely with a good bit of trepidation, you masked up and started walking our halls, carving a path all your own as the first students back in High School amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Unprecedented. It’s almost a swear word now. Yet, at every turn, you’ve been unprecedented in the best of ways.
Unbeknownst to you, we started invoking metaphors — writing books about your High School experience; the arc of a year; filling up your individual and collective plates; making a roundtrip flight from here, to there, and back. Whether you remember your cohort mates from 9th grade year, you’ve come quite a distance. And there’s still much distance to travel between now and Sunday, May 19. Most quality novels have closing chapters that are absolutely scintillating — full of action, resolution, and excitement. I’ve full faith that yours will be exactly that.
We’ll be back in touch with information about parents and family programming to help launch you into the world. Pencil in Wednesday, May 1 as our closing parent education program for the Class of 2024.
We’re working hard to make these last chapters at Edgehill all that you hope for. Students, keep writing those chapters — there’s goodness yet to be written. Families — keep loving on your young ones at home.
I’m so proud of the young adults you’re becoming.
