Elizabeth Geiger '30 sends a great shot from the outside to get the Tigers their first goal of the season.
The Tigers welcomed Grace Christian to the River Campus on a beautiful afternoon for soccer. We were missing a few key players, but were able to give other the opportunity to try new positions, get extra playing time, and challenge our flexibility.
Elizabeth Geiger '30 and Elinor Bird '29 were solid at center back for us, clearing away any threats coming through. Ruth Boehler '29 and Amelia Wilson '29 were connecting well in the center mid position and doing a great job finding Indigo Petraglia '29 and CC Cook '29 at the outside back position. Our ability to keep the ball was much better! Mattie James Bass '29 was a solid role player -- she was put in at nearly every position!
Late in the first half, Ruth Boehler had a nice corner kick to Elizabeth Geiger at the top of the box who buried the shot over the goal keeper's head. That early goal ended up being the only one of the game and the Tigers came out with the victory 1-0.
